This website is a blast from the past for me. I did several trips on the Yarmouth Navigator to the Channel Islands whilst training at Marcheood (1961-63) as a Navigator; and "skippered" Humber in Hong Kong 1967-69. Glad to hear she is still around.

Lynne the picture was i think taken in 1960-61 i seem to recollect your father when i was on one of the craft it could have been the 41 i do not think he would have been on the photo. Having looked at all the recognised faces i cannot see him.

Hi,
I have a photo that shows the men wearing lanyards, are they the ones that you are talking about?. My father is in the 2nd row, 5th from the left (the one with glider pilot wings). Alec Penney is in the front row, 4th from left, and Mr Sinclair is in the front row, 5th from the right. I shall try and post it here.
I am still in touch with the children of the following names, Penney, Sinclair, Hopping, Brading, Webb, Hatton, Walling.

Hi Pedro, frozen fingers is just about right, it's bloody brass monkey weather up here. However, next week we are going to the Red Sea for two weeks just to get some sunshine.
I remember the lanyards from when I was over the IOW in training in 1956. Quite a lot of the permanent staff wore them but I don't recall seeing them when I went on my A2 course in 1961.
Perhaps they had been stamped on by then.
I was hoping someone would have a photo of one being worn but it appears that no-one has.
Anyway, I hope things in NZ are keeping you on your toes and that you and yours are OK.
Regards to Barbara.

Message for Peter Elliott - The photo that you posted of a parade at Fort Victoria, would it be possible for it to be scanned at a higher resolution, so that it can be enlarged? What year was it taken, I wondered if my father (he would have been a Sgt then) Dick Wilson (Tug) was on it.
Thanks very much.

I also lived on Pulau Brani at that time, (58 to 60) as a schoolgirl with my parents, Dick and Rita Wilson.
Did Mick and Tich live in married quarters there?
Regards,
Lynne
